WHAT WILL YOU DO

As the Founding Frontend Engineer /m/f/d), you’ll work closely with the CTO to build up Software Engineering and shape a scalable architecture that enables rapid feature development. You will be involved in the entire development lifecycle from concept to implementation, using React and TypeScript on the frontend. You will work with an international and cross-functional team of world-class software engineers, product managers, and designers. In addition, your contribution includes:

• Shape our early-stage product, architecture, toolchain, and development practices.

• Develop our web application based on continuous customer feedback, data analysis, and product requirements.

• Implement intuitive and responsive web designs in close collaboration with our designers.

• Keep the technical debt low with test automation and writing well-structured and clean code.

• Hire engineers and support them in their growth.

• Learn new things every day and share your knowledge with the team and the outside world.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• You are highly proficient in building user-facing web applications with React, TypeScript, and modern CSS frameworks made for scale and that last.

• You work collaboratively with your colleagues and consider what is best for the team. You have exceptional communication skills and can work effectively in a distributed team and a remote-first environment. You value diversity and inclusion.

• You think creatively, are solution-oriented, adaptable to change, and strive to learn continuously.

• You lead with empathy, feel joy in supporting your fellow team members, and have outstanding judgment in finding talented engineers that match our culture.

• You write well-structured and tested code, create reusable components, know how to build responsive designs, and find joy in constantly improving the user experience.

• You have experience in API design with REST and GraphQL. Testing with Cypress is a plus.

• Experience with AWS Serverless and DevOps is desirable.

We are a remote-first company. You can either work out of our headquarters in Berlin or remotely. Choose the setup that works best for you. Remote locations should be within +/- 1 hour of CET time. We regularly get together at co-location weeks to strengthen our culture across geographies.
