+++ “Recently you heard me say SoundCloud isn’t going away. And today I’m here to tell you the exact same thing once again. In all caps. I’m happy to announce that together with investors The Raine Group and Temasek we’ve just wrapped up the largest financing round in the history of SoundCloud. This financing means SoundCloud remains strong & independent. As I said, SoundCloud is here to stay”, schreibt SoundCloud-Mitgründer Alexander Ljung im Firmenblog. Wie Billboard berichtet fließen nun 169,5 Millionen Dollar in das Unternehmen. Zuvor hieß es bereits, dass die Bewertung auf rund 150 Millionen Dollar gecrasht sein soll. Im Zuge des Investments geht der Ex-Vimeo-Chef Kerry Trainor bei Soundcloud an Bord. Ljung muss sich mit dem “Chairman of SoundCloud’s board” begnügen. Mitgründer Eric Wahlforss bleibt als Chief Product Officer an Bord. Knapp 400 Millionen Dollar flossen somit bisher in Soundcloud.
